Hire Desk Controller (Retail and Plant Hire)  

Summary

As a successful plant hire provider and tool and small plant retail outlet, we are looking for an enthusiastic, hard-working individual to join our team based in our Ardrishaig Depot.  This is a full time permanent position, working with colleagues and on own initiative to achieve a high standard of service to our customers. 

 

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Hire desk sales and customer service – face to face and over the phone

  • Dealing with customer enquiries in a polite and professional manner

  • Building lasting relationships with repeat customers

  • Successfully converting hire enquiries in to hire contracts

  • Organising on and off hires, including co-ordinating delivery and collections  

  • Raising contracts on bespoke IT Hire System (‘Syrinx’ system – training will be given)

  • Keeping track of stock and ordering by phone or through computerised system

  • Liaising and working with our other two depots in Oban and Dunoon

  • Organised and able to prioritise workload

  • Ensure the highest level of ‘good housekeeping’, with accurate record keeping

  • Administration tasks in relation to the Hire Desk

 

Qualifications and Skills

  • Good tool and plant knowledge preferable

  • IT literate

  • Strong commitment to deliver excellent customer service

  • Excellent communication skills and good telephone manner

  • Organised with the ability to multi task

  • Rate of pay dependent on previous experience

  • Full time position

  • Monday to Friday – 07:30 to 17:30hrs   

  • Holidays 28 days per annum inclusive of statutory bank holidays
